Using ser Ser for permanent and long-term states: nationality, jobs, personality, descriptions (colours, material, size): Soy español. I am Spanish. Ana es profesora. Ana is a teacher. Los niños son simpáticos. The children are nice. Mi chaqueta es azul. Es de seda y es muy elegante. My jacket is blue. It is silk and it is very elegant.
