…striving to bring literacy and technology together to better support adult learners.

Daniel’s Story  12 years ago, at the age of 29, Daniel finally sought help learning to read.  He turned to California Literacy, his local literacy organization, for help.  There, he worked with tutors who helped him overcome his dyslexia and learn to read.

Conquering Fears  First, Daniel conquered his fear of admitting he couldn’t read and that he needed help.  Second, he conquered his fear of computers and the Internet. A tutor showed him how to use a computer and introduced him to the Internet.A tutor showed him how to use a computer and introduced him to the Internet.

During the course of my traditional literacy program, I was introduced to computers and the Internet, resources that had been intimidating and confusing previously. However, I embraced them and soon saw those tools improve my literacy skills. Seeing my own success, I wanted to share what I learned with other adult learners struggling to not only become literate, but computer literate in a society that requires those skills for success. --Daniel Pedroza President & CEO
