Expresiones Lección 1 Hola, ¿qué tal?

I. Saludos: Expressing a Greeting Hello; Hi. Hola. Good morning. Buenos días. Good afternoon. Buenas tardes. Good evening; Good night. Buenas noches.

II. Despedidas: Expressing farewells Good-bye. Adiós. See you. Nos vemos. See you later. Hasta luego. Hasta la vista.

See you soon. Hasta pronto. See you tomorrow. Hasta mañana. Greetings (Regards to…) Saludos a… Bye. Chau.

Clarification Buenas is the adjective used before tardes and noches, but Buenos is used before días. Nos vemos is a reflexive verb that literally means: We’ll see one another. Hasta literally means Until : Hasta luego. Until then. Hasta la vista. Until the sight. (next time we see one another) Hasta pronto. Until soon. Hasta mañana. Until tomorrow.

A Uds. les toca... It’s your turn… Practice with your book opened to page 34. Then practice with your book closed. Practice greeting your partner: - At any time of the day. Specifically in the morning (morning hours before noon) Specifically in the afternoon (noon – 5:00 p.m.) Specifically in the evening (after 5:00 p.m.) In pairs, practice saying farewells without repeating the same farewell what your partner says. Also give you regards to his family. (tu familia)
