1 ICT age for Seniors and Digitally Excluded Immigrants Matka-team (satka-project) Social Service Department City of Helsinki

2 About the Project  Under Social Service Department, City of Helsinki in  Fund: Innovation fund under City of Helsinki.  More than 40 computer in different service centers.  Rotative instructors and volunteers for different service centers.  With co-operatin:, Adult Education, Enter ry, Volunteers of Social Service Department of Helsinki City, Universities of applied sciences-Arcada etc.

3 For whom!  For immigrant elderly, retired and also for people who are outside of the working life!  For adult service and for family caregivers!  For immigrants mothers, women who do not take part in a combined group! For immigrants who are ”digital virgins”

5 Goals of the project!  Health promotion  Increase social connectoins  Conciousness of life  Use of own strengths  Secured and qualitiful life  Supports of well-being  Having own time at home

6 Why immigrants!  ICT blind/digitally excluded  Low income level!  There was no opportunity!  Unconsciousness- language problem!  Stay up-to-date with Finnish society!

8 Where we need ICT for immigrat!  Intergenerational social communication (my son is in Finland but my parents are in Bangladesh)!  Electronic commonication: skype, e- mail.  Internet banking, billing, tickets for travels, theaters-cinemas, library booking.  Social media: facebook, google+  Reading, writting, gaming,  Music ofcourse!

9 What we give!  Basic IT training, client based courses  Personal and closer IT-guide  NO fees at all! Contents:  Net-communication : skype, , electronic payment, net-banking,  local travel guides  Social media: face book, google+

10 How this project works! Flyers in various places like:  Service centers, libraries, cultural centers, mosques etc.  Internet: social service web site, Hilma etc.  Immigrant dipartment, health centres, family house- sahrami, Hilma-the support centre for disabled immigrant, Familia club, Ingrian centre etc.  Flyers in Hakaniemi’s market  Rotative instructors and volunteers in differents centers.  Training and orientations for tutors and volunteers  1.5hrs/wk for personal or group training for 9 weeks time.
