ROLLBACK MALARIA’s vision: a world free from the burden of malaria.

Malaria is a parasitic disease transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Once the first symptoms appear, malaria can kill very rapidly and often does.

million cases of malaria cause up to 3 MILLION DEATHS EVERY YEAR, most of them children under the age of 5.

Malaria is a GLOBAL EMERGENCY

Malaria is a GLOBAL EMERGENCY, perpetuating a vicious cycle of poverty in the developing world.

By 2015, the malaria-specific United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG 6) is achieved:

By 2015, the malaria-specific United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG 6) is achieved: Malaria is no longer a major cause of mortality.

By 2015, the malaria-specific United Nations Millennium Development Goal (MDG 6) is achieved: Malaria is no longer a major cause of mortality. Malaria is no longer a barrier to social and economic development and growth anywhere in the world.

ROLLBACK MALARIA’s strategy includes distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) to prevent mosquitoes from infecting people with malaria.

ITNs can reduce malaria mortality by more than 50 %

ITNs can save up to 1.5 million lives

ROLLBACK MALARIA gains strength through its effective partnerships with the International Federation of the Red Cross and the United Nations.

ROLLBACK MALARIA joins a global response to malaria.

Y’s Men International and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have already begun their coordinated efforts.

In 2008, YMI and the IFRC distributed 25,000 nets in Sierra Leone.

the IFRC will continue as our partner to distribute nets funded by YMI in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Liberia and India. In ,

Collect 500,000 CHF over 5 years to purchase and distribute 65,000 NETS

Members of Y’s Men International, Y’s Menettes and Youth Clubs: UNITE IN A WORLDWIDE EFFORT TO REACH OUR GOAL.

In keeping with our motto: To acknowledge the duty that accompanies every right.

Set your YMI club goals

1.Determine the number of long-lasting mosquito net packages to purchase for $8 each; create your goal based on that amount.

2.Launch your fund-raising campaign each year on World Malaria Day, April 25.
