What is First-Year Advising? First-Year Advising is part of the Student Success Center. It is not unusual for students to experience many changes in their first year on campus, and First-Year Advising provides resources to help them. Provides supplemental advising and guidance to academic policies, grade worries, future educational concerns, changing majors, double majors or minors.
First-Year Advising Provides Although all students have a faculty or administrative/professional advisor, an added service is First-Year Advising for students who want or need extra guidance. It is not unusual for sophomores to seek help, especially if they used services in their first year. Many students want to tailor their education to pursue multiple interests, or they are still deciding on their career direction.
