Year 8 Design Technology 2 Point Perspective

Introduction Two point perspective is a 3D drawing with a horizon and two vanishing points. By using your drawing equipment you can draw an object (e.g. a building) where it gets smaller as it goes further away from you giving a 3 dimensional effect.

1CM Border 1CM Name Block 2 CM Indent Use a 2H pencil Keep construction lines light

100mm HORIZON

140mm 100mm Position vertical line roughly 70mm below the horizon and 30mm above the horizon This line is the front corner of the object you will draw. HORIZON

Join the top and bottom of the vertical line to each end of the horizon HORIZON

VP 1 VP 2 You will need to repeat this dividing process to get a total of 19 gaps. This method will give the impression of the gaps getting smaller as they go into the distance. Take care when using the ruler and set square to draw these lines. HORIZON
