OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS 1-TO-1  2012  Year 7 Gifted and Talented Program begins – 26 students.  2013  VCE program beings – 220 students  GT program continues in Year 7 and 8 – 50 students  2014  VCE program continues – 250 students  GT program continues in Year 8 and 9 – 50 students  GT program at Year 7 adopts Surface RTs – 26 students

2015 – THE SURFACE PRO-GRAM  Year 7 students given the opportunity to access a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and a full software and online learning package.  For the duration of the program, the device stays with the child.  Optional – There is no mandatory participation.  No BYOD  Surfaces are owned by the school to allow for technical support, reduced cost and greater software licensing.  No support can be offered for alternate devices.

THE SOFTWARE  Microsoft Windows 8.1  Microsoft Office 365  the latest versions of Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote.  Online access to web apps when using a different device.  Student Advantage Licensing – 5 computers and 5 mobile devices get Office.  Microsoft Store Apps  Microsoft DreamSpark Software  Expression Web for websites  Visual Studio for Programming

THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT   Students receive a account, which is managed by the school and powered by Microsoft  OneDrive  1 Terabyte (approx. 1,000 gigabytes) of personal, secure cloud storage, verified by the DEECD.  Micr0soft Sharepoint Online  All the learning resources, links, instructions, feedback and more, in one place.  Students can communicate and collaborate with teachers and students from all classes in their subject, in a safe and managed environment.
