Merced College Disabled Students Program & Services

Philosophy All disabled students are part of the college’s mainstream program and services. The DSP&S staff provides a supportive and individualized approach to the provision of services. Students are encouraged to be independent and are expected to be responsible. It is the belief of Disabled Students Program & Services (DSP&S) that all individuals have unexplored potential. The DSP&S program is committed to focusing on the educational needs and goals of students and to seeking solutions and strategies to compensate for the obstacle (s) blocking these goals.

How To Receive Services From Disabled Students Program & Services Students with Learning Disabilities: You must be enrolled in classes. Obtain an LD Assessment through the DSP&S Office. If you have an IEP/ Psychological Report you must bring that paperwork to the DSP&S Office. It will be reviewed by our Learning Disability Specialist. You will then be contacted to set up an appointment with a DSP&S counselor. Need to work on order

Students with All Other Disabilities: New & Returning Students You must complete steps 1-4 of the matriculation process (SSSP).
