Student Code of Conduct Sacramento City College

Student Code of Conduct The Student Code of Conduct lists the rules for the college. The Student Code reflects our culture and values. Teachers and Administration take the rules very seriously. Breaking the Code of Conduct may result in serious consequences.

In college, you cannot: Interfere with the class or meetings. Threaten or hurt other students or teachers. Steal anything from the college or students. Harass the teacher or other students—creepy sexual behavior.

Cheating Copy from another person’s test. Use “other material” during a test. Talking with students during a test.

Cheating on Homework “Group Study” means helping each other learn, not doing the work for each other. You must do your own homework. You can’t let other people copy your homework.

Plagiarism “Using” other peoples ideas without giving them credit. Using other people’s work, but saying it is your work. Using a “term paper” service.

Plagiarism “Copy and Paste” reports

Dishonesty Let another student read your test. Sharing your homework. Lying to a teacher. Stealing tests from the classroom.

Punishment for Dishonesty: Fail for your paper or test. Kicked out of class. Kicked out of SCC for a semester. Kicked out of SCC/ARC/CRC/FLC forever.

Weapons You can’t bring any kind of weapon to class (guns, knives, sticks, etc.)

Drugs and Alcohol You can’t use drugs and alcohol BEFORE OR DURING class. Medical Marijuana is not allowed at college. Do not bring drugs or alcohol to the college.

Gambling No gambling of any kind is allowed on campus.

Animals No pets or other animals are allowed on campus (including dogs in bags.) Service dogs are permitted.

Smoking On campus, smoking is only permitted outside, 30 feet (10 meters) from buildings. Please be courteous when smoking in public.

Posting Signs, Flyers Permitted, in special places. MUST have approval from Student Leadership.
