The plasma state is one of the four states of matter (along with solids, liquids, and gases). It consists of positively and negatively charged particles. 99% of all things in the universe are considered in the plasma state. Overall, the charge of plasma is neutral.

Light is radiant energy, usually referring to the electromagnetic radiation that is visible to the human eye. Light is responsible for human sight. Light is made of tiny photons which contain lots of energy. Lights travels in a straight line.

To have light, plasma must be present. The sun, Earth’s main source of light, is made up of plasma, like other stars. Artificial light, such as neon and fluorescent, has plasma gas inside the glass. Lighting, the northern lights, and the southern lights are all examples of plasmas.
