2 Global Network of Women’s Shelters (GNWS) International network of shelter programs to unite and strengthen the global shelter movement Founded in 2009 after the 1 st World Conference of Women’s Shelters in Edmonton, Canada GNWS Vision: An equal world where women and their children live free from violence. GNWS Purpose: To unite the women’s shelter movement globally to make change to end violence against women and their children.
