Before I came to the Children in Care Council I didn’t know loads of things I know now

What do you do with what we tell you? We want to tell people in power, like MP’s and Lords, what you tell us. We promise: Not tell anyone your name / area if you don’t want us to To tell others about things your area does well to help children and young people know their entitlements To get you details of an advocate in your area if you need help to get what you are supposed to

You must have a care plan that says what your needs are now, what will be done to meet those needs and what your plans are for the future. Left for Law Right for Lie

Your care plan must include your views and when deciding what to do, people must take your views into consideration.

When a social worker visits you, they have to speak to you alone, whether you want them to or not.

When an important decision is made about you, for example moving house, a review meeting has to happen (unless it is an emergency).

If you are aged 16 – 19 and in full time education, you should get £1,200 paid in cash to you.
