Ground Rules There are basically three sets of ground rules to be follow in this presentation Always put your hand up when your have a query or a comment to make. If there is need for you to excuse yourself, do it orderly without disrupting the presentation and also your colleague Lastly and most importantly, Respect must be showed to one another. What is Partnership Assessment? 1. Brief Introduction

According to Oxford English Dictionary; ‘Partnership’ means the State of being a partner or partners and or an association of two or more people as partners. Steps in Using the Tool Step 1: review of potential business partnerships for different development projects compared against 10 criteria's (The 10 criteria.docx) Step 2: develop list of all possible community development partners Step 3: based on the assessment in Step 1, identify those themes where partnership provides you with the greatest benefit. Then reflect back on the list developed in Step 2 to identify the best partners to deliver on these themes. 4. How to use the tool

Step 4: Using the narrowed option for potential partners, Conduct SWOT analysis to help understand value proposition for each partners Step 5: once you are satisfied, based on your partnership assessment, approach potential partners identified in Step 3 with a view to reaching broad – level agreements to explore ways of addressing priority development initiatives through partnership. Summary Of Partnership Assessment – The Presentation 1. What was the Plan? The Plan was Simple, we were all asked to read through the ICMM Community Development Tool Kit especially the ones that was specifically assigned to us. After reading and understanding the context of the tool kit, each CR officer was then task to present the Tool Kit to his/her colleagues using his/her own understanding after reading through the tool kit. The idea is to see how best we can incorporate these toolkits into our daily activities in preparation for the transition. 2. What Happened? After reading through my assigned Tool Kit, which was Partnership Assessment and understanding it, I came up with a workshop Plan and brain stormed on how best I could deliver what I have acquired through reading to my colleagues. By doing so, I came with a power point presentation and a set of different activities to compliment it to better get my colleague to understand what I was trying to bring across to them. The information I used were generally from reading and the experience of past OTML/CR Events and Activities 3. What went Well? As according to the assessment sheets received from the participants, the overall presentation went well. They turn to understand what I presented, especially the tool kit. They now understand what partnership assessment is and how to use the tool kit in their daily activities. However with few emphasis on the linkage provided within the presentation to be clearly stipulated and the animation to be made less graphical. 4. What I didn’t like? Basically, what I didn’t like was that I did the presentation on my own. As a matter of fact I didn’t analyse the topic properly and didn’t know where my strengths and weaknesses are given that there wasn’t any collaborative discussions to come up with a common understanding. Another thing I didn’t like was the time put into preparation, I didn’t put much time and effort into the presentation due to other work commitments. All for all, however, I achieved my required outcome of the presentation.

Cont…. 5. Lessons I learnt For me personally I learnt a lot from the presentation of the Tool Kit. Just from reading I didn’t get to see how the tool kit would look like until I presented it and went into doing the activities with the participants. It was a two way learning thing, I presented what I understood to the participants and in return they provided real time examples to complement the activities which I gave that gave a clear picture of the Tool Kit itself. I also saw the importance of time management, the benefits of early preparation and also the not to mention the basics of being a trainer of trainers. It was challenging for me given that I'm just a trainee and I was careful with the examples and words I used, however this didn’t hinder me from presenting the Tool Kit. It was a good experience for me and getting to know Partnership Assessment and also the other Tool Kits already presented by my other colleague is a bonus to me in terms of my capacity building and I’ am looking forward to learn more from the presentations of my other colleagues that yet to be presented.
