When a worker is a no-call/no-show for 3 days or more, and the employer notified the worker at the time of hire how to contact the employer for an absence, the worker will be considered to have quit the job and will be disqualified. If an employer has failed to provide quarterly wage information for a claimant, the UIA will, as before, take a Wage Affidavit from the claimant, but the law now requires that the claimant provide evidence of those wages, such as W-2 forms or check stubs. Until 10/1/15, earnings in a week will reduce benefits by 40%, and benefits + wages cannot exceed 1.6 times the worker’s weekly benefit amount.
