NARPM® first offered a designation in October 1989 NARPM® has Certifications and Designations NARPM® has 3 Certifications CSS® - Certified Support Specialist CMC – Certified Maintenance Coordinator CRMB – Certified Residential Management Bookkeeper NARPM® has 3 Designations 2 Individual Designations RMP® - Residential Management Professional MPM® - Master Property Manager 1 Company Designation CRMC® - Certified Residential Management Company

Certified Support Specialist The CSS® is the first certification available from NARPM®. Designed for anyone who works in Property Management who is a Support Staff Member Currently there are 10 Members who hold the CSS® Certification representing the top 3% of NARPM® Support Staff Members

Certified Maintenance Coordinator The CMC is one of the newest certifications available from NARPM®. Designed for those individuals who work in the “tranquil” world of Maintenance As of today there are ZERO CMCs Who wants to be the first one?

Certified Residential Management Bookkeeper The CRMB is one of the newest certifications available from NARPM®. Designed for the members who work in the Accounting or Bookkeeping area of Property Management Currently there are ZERO CRMBs in NARPM® Who wants to be the first one?

Residential Management Professional Awarded to Property Managers who have completed: extensive course work service projects for their Chapter and NARPM® demonstrated dedication to the industry NARPM® has awarded 552 RMP®s Currently there are 411 active RMP®s (10% of the membership)

Master Property Manager Awarded to Property Managers who have attained their RMP® Designation Completed advanced course requirements Reached the highest levels of achievement for their Chapter, NARPM®, and their Community Highest Designation an individual may achieve in NARPM® NARPM® has awarded 198 MPM®s Currently there are 170 active MPM®s (Top 4% of the membership)

Certified Residential Management Company This esteemed designation is awarded to those professional property management firms that demonstrate a high standard in both procedures and customer service. A detailed examination of the company and recommendations from clients and peers are required for this designation. NARPM® has awarded 49 CRMC®s Currently there are 46 active CRMC®s (Top 1% of the membership)

NARPM® designations are earned with a combination of: Property Management Experience NARPM® and industry education Service to the association through volunteer activities Attendance of NARPM® Conventions or Regional Conferences

Apply for Candidacy Choose a Mentor Sign up for the online candidacy package Review the requirements Upload things to your candidacy package as you complete them Set a time line to complete needed items Review your progress with you Mentor regularly

Candidacy Fee: $95.00 Candidacy must be completed within two (2) years. Verification that candidate is a NARPM® Support Staff Member in good standing. One letter of recommendation from current employer or supervisor. One letter of recommendation from a tenant, client, or professional peer. Verification of employment with your sponsoring property management company - minimum of one (1) year required. Completion of the NARPM® Ethics Course

Completion of three NARPM® approved courses. Electives totaling at least 25 points. Approved NARPM® Courses: ADA Fair Housing Office Operations Paperless Office

Completion of the following three NARPM® approved courses: Habitability Standards and Maintenance Maintenance Basics and Beyond Lead Base Paint Law Electives totaling at least 25 points. Completion of the NARPM® course Operating an In House Maintenance Company will earn 5 points towards the 25 elective points.

Completion of the following three NARPM® approved courses: NARPM ® 101: Basics of Property Management or Office Operations ADA Fair Housing (On-line Only) NARPM ® Finance Course (On-Line Only) Electives totaling at least 25 points. Completion of the NARPM ® course Risk Management Essentials will earn 5 points towards the 25 elective points.

Be a current member of NARPM®. Be a currently licensed real estate agent for a period of not less than the 2 previous years. (If your state requires licensing.) Verification of 100 unit years of experience acquired over a minimum of two consecutive years. (One unit year equals management of 1 residential unit for 1 year.) Must manage a minimum of 25 residential units during candidacy period and at the time of achieving the designation. Successfully complete 18 hours of NARPM® approved coursework, plus the NARPM® Ethics course. Earn 50 elective points through service to NARPM®. Attend two NARPM® state or regional conferences OR one NARPM® national convention prior to completing candidacy. Submit sealed letters of recommendation from 2 RMP® or MPM® designees and 3 clients. Submit a completed candidacy checklist packet within 3 years of application date. Non-refundable application fee of $150.

Provide verification of 500 unit years of experience acquired over a minimum of 5 consecutive years. (One unit year equals management of 1 residential unit for 1 year.) Must manage a minimum of 50 units during and at completion of candidacy. Successfully complete 24 hours of NARPM® approved coursework. Earn 200 elective points (which includes the RMP® points earned) through service to NARPM®, local chapters and the property management industry. Attend at least two NARPM® National Conventions prior to completing candidacy that were not counted for RMP® candidacy. Submit sealed letters of recommendation from 2 MPM® designees and 3 clients. Submit a completed candidacy checklist packet within 3 years of application date. Non-refundable application fee of $250.

Have an MPM® designee on staff. Provide verification of 500 unit years of management experience. (One unit year equals management of 1 residential unit for 1 year.) Successfully complete an on-site visit from a NARPM® auditor selected by the Certification Committee. Complete the audit process within three years of making application. The non-refundable application fee is $300. The expenses of the onsite auditor are the responsibility of the company being audited. NARPM® will pay the auditor and the company will need to reimburse NARPM®. The annual renewal is $150.
