ANTIBIOTICS COMENIUS EUROPEAN PROJECT IPSIA “Emilio Cavazza” - POMEZIA

What are antibiotics?? Antibiotics kill and inibith pathogenes’s growth. There are synthetic and semisyntetic antibiotic. They’re produced in industries and into laboratories.

Natural antibiotics Natural Antibiotics derived from specific plant. There are antiviral and antifungals antibiotics.

Synthetic antibiotics Synthetic antibiotics are produced in the laboratories and they have revolutionized modern medicine The most significant for the medicine was the pennicillin

Pennicillin Pennicillin is a derivate of mold Penicillium notatum and it was discovered by Fleming in 1928 Pennicillin was used for the first time in humans in 1949

Mechanism of action Antibiotics act by different ways They are divided according to the mechanism of action against the pathogen

Antibiotic resistance Continued use of an antibiotic can cause the results useless because some bacteria develop strains resistant bactericidal or bacteriostatic antibiotic. This weakens our immune system making little efficient.

Consequences The antibiotic can give side effect. The dependence of medicines or abuse of these it can take to death.
