PROGRAM OUTLINE Tor Vergata Medical Summer School for International Students is offering a ten-days intensive program for highly motivated college students who are pursuing a career in Medicine. The program introduces you to many aspects of translational medicine, by the following science modules: a) Diving in Immunology b) Diving in Infectious Disease Each module is taught by Tor Vergata Medical School Senior and Junior Faculty Members and International major EU experts in the field. Students are exposed to faculty lectures, workshops, group working and lab training to master development of a problem-focused learning model of science education. Clinical and laboratory exposure provides students with a variety of experiences to develop an understanding of translational medicine application. As part of the course, students have the opportunity to taste Italian Cultural and Historical Heritage as a unique experience with an exclusive introduction to Italian Monuments and Archeological sites. English is the official language. The course lasts for 75 hours (60 hours lessons + 15 hours of social and cultural activities). 90% of attendance is mandatory to be awarded with 10 credits ECTS. ELIGIBILITY Students must have completed 2 years of Medical School and must be in good academic standing. We encourage applications from students of diverse backgrounds to create a pleasant cross-cultural exchange. A letter of recommendation from a University teacher, counsellor or principal -someone who has personal knowledge of your CV, integrity, character or qualities - is required. Italian students are allowed in a limited number. RESIDENTIAL LIFE Residential life is as much a part of the course experience to make lifelong international connections. Students will be housed at Collegio Lamaro-Pozzani (CLP), located in Tuscolana area. Metro stop is at 10 min. distance walk. CLP provides comfortable boarding for the entire duration of the Medical Summer School. REGISTRATION Tor Vergata Medical Summer School application form can be downloaded at the website Admission is offered on a rolling basis. As enrolment is limited, it is critical to submit applications early. Applications will be accepted not later than May 28 and will be confirmed before June 4. FEES The total residential program cost is Euro 850, including boarding. When submitting their inscription, participants will be asked to pay a non-refundable registration fee of 50 euros to be credited towards the program tuition.
