State Public Education Funding Trend Since 1992 Education Funding has Increased $1,047,760,921, or 81.9% The Minimum School Program has Increased $586,967,524, or 77.6% See the Public Education Data Book, Page 21

What is the Weighted Pupil Unit? The unit of measure used in determining a uniform cost for educating each student  One WPU usually equals one student  Additional WPUs are allocated for specific pupils or programs The value of the WPU for FY 2003 is $2,132 - $16 higher than last year For FY 2003, 627,795 WPUs were allocated by the Legislature WPU funding will equal $1,338,458,940 in FY 2003 See the Public Education Data Book, Page 26
