Significant Safety Achievements- 9/14 Assisted in the modifications to FLEXLAB 90X-3. This included six LOTO procedures/permits and fire sprinkler work. A electrical equipment survey was sent out to all technical area lab owners. Results are being compiled and prompt follow-up planned. Approximately 500 chemical containers have been disposed as part of the B62 (Kerr) lab area clean-out. More to come! –A 100 item chemical clean-out was completed for (Mehlhorn) as part of this lab area move. –The remaining 50 old chemicals in (Mao) have been disposed. This includes removal of some old equipment and hood cleanup. The 2015 self-assessment plan was completed and submitted to OCA. Started set-up of Work Planning and Control (WPC) projects/activities for EETD.
Short Term Safety Outlook- 10/14 Continue the set-up of the Work Planning and Control (WPC) “projects” and “activities” framework for EETD. Follow-up on electrical equipment issues identified from survey and Electrical Equipment Inspection Program. Complete the flame resistant lab coat corrective action. Continue to address issues identified by the fire marshal in EETD buildings. The B62 and B70 solvent storage closets are slated for clean-out and upgrade. Assist with the set-up for new lab areas and /293. Continue old chemical/sample clean-outs in , 246, 308, 310 and closet. Conduct quarterly SAA inspections of EETD lab areas.
