SEN legislation update Every Disabled Child Matters group concerns (refer to document) “EDCM is particularly concerned that the code does not describe in sufficient detail how the system will improve outcomes for children with SEN who do not meet the threshold for an education, health and care plan, nor take into account the needs of disabled children without SEN for joined-up services as well.”

We also use a range of assessments with all the pupils at various points list of universal assessments eg Y1 phonics screening, speech link, language link, spelling age, reading age and when they are used Where it is not sufficient, even if special educational need has not been identified, we put in place extra support to enable the pupil to catch up. Examples of extra support are list of examples.
