School Based Student Reporting v4.0 3 What schools need to know SBSR3.4 has been replaced by SBSR4.0 - to allow integration with ERN - as a result of evaluation of Version 3 SBSRv4.0 is not mandatory A-E / Descriptors and mandatory reporting requirements should be the main focus for schools and teachers SBSR4.0 is a tool only to assist teachers implement policy Principals considering SBSR software in 2009 will need to make an informed and deliberate decision whether to adopt SBSR4.0 or not

School Based Student Reporting v4.0 4 SBSR Software in 2008  Over 572 schools successfully used the SBSR v4 software 23% of all High Schools and 30% of all Primary.  There has been more than 102% increase in the number of schools using SBSR between 2006 and Semester  Over 100 new schools began using SBSR in 2008

School Based Student Reporting v4.0 5 Why develop SBSRv4.0?  As a result of the evaluation of Version 3.2, a number of areas of improvement were identified. Version 4.0 responds to feedback from previous users.  To integrate SBSR software with the ERN

School Based Student Reporting v4.0 6 What is SBSR v4.0?  SBSR Version 4.0 is an enhancement of Version 3.4. It provides greater functionality, improved work flows and integration with ERN.  All data from previous versions of SBSR are fully compatible with version 4.0

School Based Student Reporting v4.0 7 What's new Version 4.0?  Integration with ERN. System is now dynamic.  New front page options. Logo and text options available.  Curriculum offer maintenance. Schools can customise learning areas and clone them to various courses/classes where applicable.  Changes to reporting period setup. Additional options now available.

School Based Student Reporting v4.0 9 Preparing to Use SBSR v4.0 As with previous version of the software schools should:  Check that all potential users of the software know their DET login name and password.  Review and updating school ERN data.  Deciding who will undertake the roles of ERN Group Offer Manager, CRD Role of Curriculum Manager, and the SBSR roles of ‘School coordinator’, ‘Year Coordinator’, ‘Reviewer’ and ‘Approver’.All these roles need to be allocated prior to SBSRv4 being used.

Develop a school reporting timeline  Notify Regional Support Teams regarding school training requirements

School Based Student Reporting v Using the Training site  It is strongly recommended that schools use the training site initially for familiarisation of the SBSR software  Access to the training site is automatically given to a user when the principal gives rights to a person within AMU. DET user name and password are to be used.  The training site is now accessible for users via the “my training” tab within the portal
