Junior Saltire Prize Junior Green Energy Award Launched: December 2011

Skills Development Scotland Are you interested in making Scotland greener through greater use of renewable energy ? Following the success of the inaugural Junior Saltire Prize Awards in 2011 and to help raise the awareness of the opportunities that Scotland has to exploit its marine renewable potential, Skills Development Scotland is again funding the Junior Saltire Prize Awards 2012 for primary and secondary school pupils. The award is being managed by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in partnership with SCDI’s Young Engineers and Science Clubs Scotland. In April 2008 The Scottish Government set up The Saltire Prize, Scotland's £10 million challenge to accelerate the commercial development of marine energy. In addition to the Junior Saltire Prize Award an extra set of awards were created under the Junior Green Energy Awards programme and is also being sponsored by Skills Development Scotland. This programme has been designed to raise awareness and recognition of the range of excellent projects and challenges that Scottish schools have undertaken during within the renewable energy and climate change areas through CREST & Eco School programmes.
