S5/6: Pathways

Beginners Spanish at Nat 4/5 Level- 6 periods. Conversational Spanish/French classes: 3 periods. Languages for Life and Work Award: Develop your language and employability skills. There is no final exam, but you receive qualification.

National 5 French and Spanish: Follows similar structure to Nat 4, so this would be a natural step. As with Nat 4, you must pass an internal Reading, Listening and Writing assessment and there is a final SQA speaking exam, worth 30%

The most natural progression for you is Higher French and Spanish: The new Higher, follows the exact same structure as National 5, where you will sit internal assessments as well as a final SQA Speaking exam worth 30%.

Advanced Higher French: - Excellent progression for pupils keen to take languages at university or maintain their interest in a language. - You will be put forward to take part in Glasgow City Council’s annual trip to Strasbourg, European Parliament, EUROSCOLA.
