OFFSHORE PIPE LAYING: Normal S-Laying Method
Step 1: PIPE BEVELING Lift the pipe out of the supply barge onto the incoming rack Pipe Tallying (pipe number, length, joint number) Making the J-Bevel on pipe ends for Auto welding
Step 2: Station 1 (Fit up, Root and Hot Pass) Preheat on pipe end prior to welding (based on approved WPS) Fitting pipe ends to be aligned by means of internal clamp Root weld followed by Hot pass
Step 3: Station 2,3,4&5 Filler passes on Station 2 and 3 Cap welding on Station 4 Visual Inspection on Station 5 Sta #4 Sta #2 Sta #5 Sta #3
Step 4: Station 6 (X-Ray) X-ray operators control the movement of the X-ray crawler inside the pipe Radiographic intrepeters from HHI, Client and Migas are reviewing the X-ray result Wrapping the film around the intended joint
Step 5: Station 7& 8 (Brush up and Cold Wrap) Sta #7: Brush up Sta #8: Cold Wrap
Step 6: Station 9 (FIELD JOINT COATING) & PULLING Foam Coating performed by OJS (Offshore Joints Service)
