New Teachers are Supported Through: Summer Institute for Beginning Teachers Beginning Teachers are provided with professional learning sessions led by experienced teachers and Instructional Leaders on practical ideas and resources on how to plan engaging and relevant lessons, effective assessment practices and how to get to know their students, parents and communities Job Embedded Learning Initiative (JELI) Up to 3 days (total) release time is provided for 1st and 2nd Year teachers from a diverse menu of school- based professional learning with Mentors, Exploration Classroom learning and central professional learning sessions (2 total days provided for newly hired LTOs) Orientation / Mentorship / Job Embedded Learning
