 Congratulations on getting a place on our new 3 year GCSE Art course.  This year will provide the solid practical and thinking skills you will require to succeed. We are not looking for fully formed artists, and we do not expect you to achieve a perfect result every time: what we look for are earnest students who want to learn and improve their skills to GCSE standard and beyond!  Let us make it all about you (well, mostly)- The most successful Art students find ways to use their personalities and interests in their artwork.  This is the real thing- No messing about here, from the first lesson forward you have started gaining vital experience for the course. Make the most of it from day one.  No half measures. We commit to giving you a professional program with highly skilled practitioners and you commit to taking part, getting involved and trusting in our advice and tutoring. With application and practice you will succeed here.  There are no limitations here, only minimum expectations : accept the challenge of GCSE Art.  Do not underestimate the power of good research, you have two really good web reference here; you should at the very least spend a good amount of time exploring them both.  Don’t forget to have fun with the tasks- We are artists this is the sort of stuff we do best. Otherwise a reasonable paper quality sketchbook can be purchased from stationers / art shops like hobby craft for around £6, alternatively the first result for “A4 sketchbook” on amazon is an £ gsm book which would also be suitable. /
