Japan left China at the end of WWII; Nationalists and Commies who were fighting together against Japan went back to fighting each other 2. What was the outcome of the civil war in China? Chaing and his nationalist fled China and moved to Taiwan 3. How did the outcome of the Chinese civil war affect American Politics? Conservatives claimed that commie agents were at work in the US government. The fear it caused led to another Red Scare. 4. How did Korea become divided into two countries? Japanese north of the 38th Parrallel surrendered to the Soviets and in the south the surrendered to the US. 5. How did the Korean War start? North Korea led a supprise attack into the south
