What is a refugee? A refugee is someone who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.

Why do people become refugees? People become refugees for many different reasons, such as: Fear of war or some other kind of violence Natural disasters such as flooding or famine Persecution because of their religion or sexuality Poverty
