12 Angry Men

12 ________ Men

12 Broken Men

 “You will all fall away, Jesus told them ‘for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’” (Mark 14:27)  But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same. (Matthew 26:35)  Then all the disciples deserted him and fled. (Matthew 26:56b)

 Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.” And he went outside and wept bitterly. (Luke 22:60-62)  But all those who knew him, including the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things. (Luke 23:49)

 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. (Luke 24:11)  When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she (Mary Magdalene) had seen him, they did not believe it. (Mark 16:11)

 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened. (Luke 24:12)  Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either. (Mark 16:12-13)

 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? (Luke 24:36-38)
