Using Visual Aids Visual aids can be a very important element of your speech. It’s important to remember three basic tasks when showing a visual aid.

Preparing Visual Aides

Structure 1.one or two words 2.big font, filling up the screen 3.bright contrast, high influence 4.easy-to-understand words Two Types of Visual Aides Content Avoid large volume of diagrams Simple figures and tables Spread into different slides if too much information Large font Don’t design for the readers to take time to read the slide

Two Type of Visual Aides Information density LowHigh Visual : readingEasy to absorbEasy to absorb, but is slow Audio : listeningEasy to absorbDifficult to absorb Channel

1.At the same time  lower your memorizing capability 2.When the audience are reading the ppt, the capability for absorbing what you are expressing is lowered. 3.Try to design your ppt as simple as possible  without taking time to read Reading and Listening

Practice I 1. Choose your “introduction” sentence. Practice with a partner.
