The Gramophone  Oldest appliance for playing music  Poor sound quality  Has to be wound up

The Music Box  Better sound quality than gramophone  More complex box may also have a tiny drum and small bells

The Record Player  Pretty good sound quality because of diamond needle

The Cassette Player  Very good sound quality  Relatively small and portable  Some were built with radios and microphones  Can record voice or music

The CD Player  Excellent sound quality (depending on the CD)  Plays.wma files  Portable (there are also boom boxes)  Hands-free (headphones or earphones)

The Mp3 player  Excellent sound quality  Plays.mp3 files  A lot smaller than.wma files  Built-in or changeable memory card
