Podcasting What is Podcasting? RSS (Real Simple Syndication)

VODcasting VODcasting (Video On Demand) The Pod/VODcasting Process: – Create & Edit – Publish to web or blog – Subscribe using an “RSS News Reader” – Download content into content management software (CMS) – Play on download device (iPod, etc.)

Implications Record and distribute news broadcasts Students upload lessons to instructor’s web site Recorded teacher’s notes Recorded lectures (both audio & video) distributed directly to student’s MP3 players Student projects

Podcasting Physics at Bishop Moore Pilot program using iPods for instructional delivery of Physics content Student resource for exams Can be used anywhere Preparing students for college where Podcasting is used extensively

Future Plans Pod/VODcasting will expand at Bishop Moore Expansion of new technology in classrooms will improve instruction in Physics and other subjects
