COMENIUS EUROPEAN PROJECT IPSIA “Emilio Cavazza” - POMEZIA

Prof: A. Lafratta – M. Belardinelli – M. Tiberini Student Andrea Liquori 1^Bmecc.

Bioreactor R1 can produced inoculums, then it go to fomenter R2. Ground has been sterilized outside fomenter. Broth’s coming from R2 goes to cyclone D1 and divide to have 2 parts : Each-one with a lot of penicillin go Bach to fomenter, Another will filter by F1 and will cool until 2-5 degrees by E1. Filtered solution goes to D2 and there mixed to H 2 SO 4 to have Acid penicilline.

Acid penicillin goes to extractor P1 with butyl-acetate that can dissolve acid penicillin. Penicillin’s concentration is 75-80%, solution goes to activate carbon column C1, by pump G2 solution goes to D3 without Impurities. Solution reacts with sodium or potassium citrate to precipitate penicillin’s crystals, to have it must use centrifuge P3 Penicillin’s crystals goes to transporters to have washing by butyl, than it’ll evaporate by dryer B1
