PRESENTATION OF PROJECT MYFIRE

FP7 project: FP7-ICT Start date: 01/06/2010 Budget (EC contribution): 700K euro Duration: 24 months Target countries: EU and BRICs Target groups: research testbeds users and beneficiaries 12 Identity card of project

objective 1: Do more with FIRE To identify the main issues and needs in the test beds approach – Researchers and users needs for an experimental facility – Liaison with standardisation process: use & participate – Exploitation process of Future Internet research – Economics data for decisions-makers

objective 2: DO MORE FIRE To detect best practices to stimulate the USE of the FIRE experimental facility – Identify the socio economic and environmental impacts and communicate them – Produce good practices to users and researchers for facilitating the access and the usage of test beds – Organize a series of workshops in the European area and BRIC countries to develop the awareness of the FIRE facility – Develop a networks and collaborations with the similar existing initiatives in the BRIC countries

15 Project objectives: overview Research and technology: the real needs for test beds Standardisation: define the necessary standardised methodologies commercial exploitation strategies, impact evaluation of testbed utilisation Innovation and impacts:

16 Project activities Research Investment Research Results

Project outcomes 1.Contribution to the development of the role and perception of experimental facilities in the FI research. 2.Feedback to the users and other impacted constituencies (providers, research, programmes,..). 3.Best practices for testing, deploying the experimental facilities, standards use and development and possible roadmap (recommendations). 4.Tool kit for decision makers on test beds design and set up approaches including impact (economic, social, environmental) analysis.

General approach 18

Public reports available on website: – Country reports (Brazil, Russia, India and China) – Recommendations to FIRE Standardised methodologies for testing Opportunities for contribution to standardisation Exploitation and sustainability path 19 Results

OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLABORATION
