DEVELOPMENT OF SLOVENIAN RAILWAY INFRASTRUCTURE CORRIDORS V.th and X.th corridor Lenght of railway lines total: 1228 km single track lines: 330 km duble track lines: 898 km

THE GOALS WE WANT TO ACHIEVE Abandoning of bottle-necks, completing of the missing sections and the construction of main lines; Connecting of the railway transport with air and maritime transport; Improvement of transport safety; Acceleration of the national economic development; Reduction of the negative impact on environment; Assuring of the allowed axle load min. D3 (225 kN/axle and 72 kN/m); Increasing of the maximal allowed line speed on main lines, which coincide with corridors V and X on 160 km/h or more and Assuring of the renovation of safety signalling devices and the up-to date remote control of traffic on main lines of public railway infrastructure.

RUNNING PROJECTS International projects (co-financed from European funds) The Republic of Slovenia is entitled to co-financing of projects by means of the European Union, namely with the aid of: Financial TEN-T funds, within this at present nine projects are implemented; ISPA 2000-2004, within this at present two projects are still implemented; Cohesion fund 2004-2006, within this two projects are still implemented; Cohesion fund 2007-2013, within this four projects are running in the moment.   Domestic projects (financed by the means of the Republic of Slovenia)

TEN-T PROJECTS Technical studies for the construction of the second track of the railway line Divača- Koper; Plan for obtaining the building permit for the reconstruction and electrification of the existing railway line Pragersko – Hodoš; Preparing of legal expertise and the feasibility study for the development of the railway infrastructure on the area of the Ljubljana junction; Main solution of the airport Ljubljana including the railway line connection with Ljubljana and Kranj (new railway line connection Ljubljana-Jesenice); Implementation of system GSM-R on Slovenian railway network; Cross-border railway line Trieste-Divača: Study and the plan of the cross-border railway line Trieste-Divača-Ljubljana-Budapest-border with Ukraine; Implementation of ERTMS system on the Vth railway corridor (Valencia-Budapest); Preparing of the preliminary study for the construction of the new high capacity line / high speed line Divača-Ljubljana; Preparing of the preliminary study for the construction of the new high capacity line / high speed line Ljubljana - Zidni Most.

Within the period of ISPA 2000-2004 two projects are in implementation, namely: 1-Modernisation of SS devices on the line Divača-Koper; 2-Modernisation of SS devices in the line Pragersko – Ormož Within the period of the Cohesion fund 2004-2006 two projects are implemented, namely: 1-Modernization of the railway line Pragersko-Ormož (A); 2-Remote control of electrical traction Within the period of the Cohesion 2007-2013 the next projects are implemented: 1-New railway line connection Divača-Koper; 2-Reconstruction, electrification and upgrading of the line Pragersko-Hodoš; 3-Modernization of the existing railway line Divača-Koper; 4-Modernization of level crossings

DOMESTIC PROJECTS 1-Preparing and management of projects; 2-Modernization of the railway line Grosuplje-Kočevje; 3-Abandoning of slow drives on the section of the line Košana-Gornja Ležeče; 4-Environment protection and noise barriers; 5-Protection of railway level crossings; 6-Updating of SS protection on the railway station Kamnik; 7-Modernization of SS and TC devices on the railway line Ormož-Murska Sobota
