Recent developments of 2G technology Industrial scale documentation BioFuel Technology A/S BioFuel Technology A/S – a pioneer in developing large scale commercial lignocellulosic bioethanol plants Recently authorized in China to develop the worlds largest bioethanol facilities! Working with Novozymes (enzymes) and Terranol (fermenting yeast)

Recent developments of 2G technology Industrial scale documentation BioFuel Technology A/S Money on the streets ? Money is on the fields ! In Ukraine: ~ 50 million tons of straw from wheat and barley, and cornstover can be converted into 15 million tons of Bio-ethanol. Value: 15 billion EUR

Recent developments of 2G technology Industrial scale documentation BioFuel Technology A/S Welcome to the future of Fuels ! Ethanol can be mixed until 10% with gasoline without changing the engine. So called E-10 In 2009, the Council of the European Union adopted a common EU framework for the promotion of energy from renewable sources (Directive 2009/28/EC). The aim is to achieve by 2020 a 20% share of energy from renewable sources in the EU's final consumption of energy and a 10% share of energy from renewable sources in each member state's transport energy consumption.

Recent developments of 2G technology Industrial scale documentation BioFuel Technology A/S Welcome to the future of Fuels ! Ethanol can be mixed until 15% with gasoline without changing the engine. So called E-15 First generation bioethanol is produced from agricultural feedstock, such as sugar cane, sugar beet, and corn, whereas 2. generation bioethanol is produced from agricultural wastes, such as wheat straw, corn stover and wood chips.

Inbicon A/S biomass refinery at Kalundborg, Denmark Updates: The first 2G plant in operation!

The Inbicon demonstration plant has proven well and is updated to version 2. New update with the V1 fermenting yeast The manufacturing process for bioethanol involves 1) pretreatment of biomass 2) enzymatic hydrolysis 3) fermentation and 4) distillation. Biomass contains the so-called C6 sugars, primarily from cellulose, and C5 sugars from the hemicellulose part of the plant material. The yeast has performed very well in industrial scale and confirmed the ethanol yields and performance criteria. New plants under development! Updates on the Inbicon plant!

BFT equipment's and design! Satellite station for biomass collection and pre-processing! Satellite station for corn stover pre-processing!

Technology and production Novo enzymes and V1 yeast Production: tons ethanol based on tons corn stover annually tons per day biomass processed 20 MW electricity & 40 MW steam Energy self sufficient (based on biomass combustion) Process: Novo enzymes and V1 yeast! Investment: 100 million EUR, ROI > 50%, payback in 2 years!

Finalized in 2012 and in operation since then!

The Cresentino plant, Italy The first commercial 2 nd generation scale plant in operation Production: tons bio-ethanol annually

The biomass – wheat straw

Maabjerg Bioenergy 2G ethanol and biogas plant The biogas facility in operation

The Maabjerg 2G ethanol facility under approval, financing, and construction!

Maabjerg 2G technology Technology: BioFuel Technology A/S equipment and design ! Novo enzymes ! The V1 yeast ! Production: tons ethanol based on tons wheat straw annually Biogas: 100 million m3 Lignin: tons Electricity, Heat (steam) Fertilizer

The worlds largest 2G bioethanol facility in development! BioFuel Technology A/S as turn key supplier!

Annual Input and Production! Location:  Harbin, China Input :  1,300,000 tons corn stover per year Output:  300,000 tons ethanol  300,000 tons CO2  300,000 tons biogas  50,000 tons protein fodder  50,000 tons vinasse fertilizer

BFT equipment's and design! The BFT concepts and equipment is second to none!  The equipment is industry standards with long records !  New developments well proven and patented !  Processes, enzymes and yeasts all tested in laboratory-, semi-, and industrial scale as demonstrated above and in our feasibility report! We are ready to commence work and are looking forward to working in Ukraine. Who wants to participate in the ROI of 7,5 billion EUR in Ukraine ? Towards Fuel Independence of Ukraine ! For the benefit of the people and government of Ukraine and the shareholders. A win-win situation. Thank you for your attention! Miro Tafra,BFT Ukraine
