-LSB started to conduct AES since 1991 in Vientiane Capital. - based on size of employment -100% of employee >= % of employee % of employee < , sample survey -2001, Vientiane Capital, Luangprabang, Savannkhet and Champak -Based on the sample frame of enterprise registration Introduction:

-2006, 1 st Economic Census -2008, Conducted AES Sample survey based on the 1 st Economic Census -Selected the largest number of establishments which are 5 and more than employees -Sample have 5633 units of total in 2006 economic census Introduction:

Main Objective -Record economic activity unit which are operating in Lao PDR. -To build the data base be used information to policy maker, planner, analysis of economic. -To analyze the distribution of economic unit with respect to geographical location such as province and district as well as difference size of the industry. -provide data for estimation of National Account as well as GDP and GNI of lao.

Target of Survey -Economic units which are currency operating and formal sector -exclude Financial institution, bank and insurance. -Informal sector was collected through Annual Household Survey. - These both of survey was provided to estimation of National Account.

Data control -Check all form from field work -If data is not clearly, contact direct establishment

Data Processing -All data was entered into computer using Access Software and build data base like SQL. -Using SPSS program to evaluation and analyze indicators.

Outcome - There are 4611 units replied questionnaire, or 81.8% of sample. Reason of not provide data -Closed, -Closed temporarily, -Moved location, -Book keeping was included parent company, -operator not address, -could not find, -employee less than 5, -not cooperation and others.

-Now, LSB are conducting Second Economic Census, After that, will conduct AES 2012 on November 2013, which will select sample from Second EC 2012.
