Winston Churchill was born on the 30th of November 1874 at Blenheim Palace. He joined the army but in 1899 he left to become a politician. In 1900 he was elected as the MP for Oldham but soon left to try and join the Liberal party. He finally joined in In 1940 he became Prime Minister.

Neville Chamberlain was prime minister before Winston Churchill. In 1940 Churchill,Roosevelt and Stalin formed an alliance called the allies.Roosevelt was president of the USA and Stalin was dictator of Russia.

Churchill wrote many speeches for the British public including Blood,Sweat and Tears and Struggle Progress. One of his quotes is “The United States is like a giant boiler.Once the fire is lighted under it,there is no limit to the power it can generate,”from In War.

After the war Churchill invented the peace sign, the peace sign meant victory. In this picture Winston Churchill is doing the peace sign to celebrate the victory of England in WW2. In 1951 Winston Churchill won a Noble prize for literature. In 1955 he retired from politics. And finally in 1965 he died.
