World War Two: Allied vs. Axis Powers The Countries and Leaders

Who were the Allied, who were the Axis? –The Allied Powers were a group of countries who planned to stop the Axis Power’s attempt to take over the world. –On the other hand the Axis were a group who planned on ruling the world, and having the world be populated entirely by their “perfect race.”

The Allied- what, where, when. The Allied were countries (hence the name,) that banded together against the Aryan cause, the “perfect race.” They came together in the late thirties to the early forties, with the exception of a few countries.

Special Leaders-Allied Franklin Delano Roosevelt F.D.R. ( ) Thirty-second President of the United States longer than any other, also was the President during World War Two. Died eighty- three days after being elected for the fourth time.

Special Leaders-Allied General Eisenhower ( ) Eisenhower was the supreme commander of the allied forces in WWII, and later became President. He was famous for leading one of the most succesful war coalitions of all time.

Special Leaders- Allied General McArthur ( ) One of the most brilliant commanders of modern times. Often critisized for his stubborness, and self- confidence. Always had his corn cob pipe, sunglasses, and battered campaign hat.

Special Leaders-Allied General Patton ( ) Always carried pearl handled gun in combat. He was the American field commander that Germans most feared. Said to be one of the most flamboyant and aggressive generals ever.

Special Leaders- Allied Winston Churchill ( ) British prime minster from Famous for saying “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat.” Made first honorary member of the U.S.

The Axis- what, where, when The Axis powers (known to most as the bad guys) consisted mainly of the German National Socialists (Nazis,) the Fascist Italians, and the fascist Japanese, as well as a few other countries (Finland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and the USSR at the beginning of the war.) All believed that if all people were the same, the world would be better.

Special Leaders- Axis Adolf Hitler ( ) German dictator (Führer) and meglomaniac. Fought in WWI Was the supreme commander of the Axis forces. Ich Benign Un Verlierer (I am a loser)

Special Leaders- Axis Benito Mussolini ( ) Italian Fascist dictator. Hated by his own people after death.

Special Leaders- Axis Hideki Tojo ( ) Japanese Prime Minister and Minister of War. Tojo was a fascist as well. Objected to democratic developments in Japan.

Special Leaders- Axis Heinrich Himmler ( ) Head of German Secret Police (Gestapo). Ordered the deaths of millions of people. Commited suicide after being caught by the allies.

Special Leaders- Axis/Allied Joseph Stalin ( ) Dictator of the USSR Secretary General of the Communist party. Joined allies in 1941 after Germany invaded USSR.

The End - Who won? Why? How? As we have shown the Axis were far outnumbered, and led by a small band of psychopathic fascists. The Axis finally surrendered after the dropping of the atomic bomb. Hitler committed suicide, Mussolini was brutally murdered by his people. On the other hand Eisenhower became president, McArthur won the Congressional Medal of Honor, basically, we won.
