 Development of AMORE software for online monitoring and data analysis of MT station  Preliminary cosmic data results from triple-GEM chambers with APV/SRS electronics  Plans for the next MT station prototype with full APV/SRS readout electronics  Conclusion K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011 OUTLINE

First Test of the SRS Electronics with triple-GEMs For RD51 Coll. Meeting, Bari, Oct K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011 Triple-GEM with 12 APV hybrids ADC/FEC card in Euro crate ALICE DATE for the DAQ AMORE for online monitoring Plastic scintillator for trigger

Development of AMORE Software for Online Monitoring and Data analysis of MT Station  AMORE is ALICE Data Quality Monitoring Software framework  Automatic Monitoring Environment founded on ROOT & DATE Monitoring Library  It is based on Publisher/Subscriber paradigm with the detectors publishing their data in a monitoring pool and clients subscribing to the pool to collect data for online monitoring & offline data analysis.  Communication between publisher and clients through DIM a publish/subscribe system developed at CERN K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011

Development of AMORE Software for Online Monitoring and Data analysis of MT Station  First implementation of the software used to produce the results for RD51 coll. Meeting in Bari October  Current version contains the following major improvements: Pedestal data are now generated and saved in ROOT files Full set of histograms could be generated Online monitoring display is implemented and defined via configuration files.  Several Amore Agent to be created for specific tasks (to be done later) GEMs testing and commissioning (pedestal data ….) Online monitoring of the MT Station with real time targets imaging Offline data analysis and saving into ROOT files K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011

Plans for the next MT station prototype with full APV/SRS readout electronics K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011 GEM detector active area Front-end cards HV board Target plate GEM support (with cut-out)  Full MT Station Cubic-foot size station (30 cm x 30 cm x 30 cm) Total of 10 detectors (top and bottom + lateral station) Mechanical stand with flexible geometry e.g. variable gaps between detectors 120 APV v3 hybrids + SRS to read out more than channels DATE software for DAQ + AMORE for data monitoring & analysis

Plans for the next MT station prototype with full APV/SRS readout electronics K. Gnanvo - RD51 Mini Week, CERN January 2011  AMORE software development for the MT station We plan to integrate POCA reconstruction into the AMORE package Online and real time target reconstruction during the data acquisition Extend the data analysis code development Create task specific AMORE agent

Conclusion  Where we are now: AMORE package developed for APV/SRS system for online monitoring display and data analysis Preliminary results from the analysis of cosmic data run with 5 FIT triple-GEMs equipped with APV readout and SRS electronics More detailed studies required to understand issues with APV hybrid v2 pedestal noises  Where we want to be in the next few months: Tests of APV v3 hybrids, new generation of FEC/ADC cards. Set up the cubic-foot MT station with 10 GEM chambers with APV/SRS electronics Back to DATE software for the SRS DAQ system Develop a more robust data analysis and MT reconstruction code based on AMORE K.
