IPv6 Enabled Indoor Positioning System Asfak Rahman KINO Mentor: Ralph Droms

kio What is kio? Accurate and low cost indoor positioning applications kio kio is utilizing Ultra-wide band (UWB) radio communication technology and Time-of- Flight (ToF) kio kio 's positioning error is below 30cm/1feet kio kio system contains of anchors for ToF triangulation, nodes for moving object, network border router and optional wireless network monitors It is possible to achieve node ranging rate over 10Hz Communication between radios is based on IEEE UWB MAC standard supporting both ranging and IPv6 compliant data exchange IPv6 Enabled Indoor Positioning System

Architecture with IP Networking BORDER ROUTER kio -anchor UDP/HTTP SERVER kio -anchor kio -tag tag’s position Trilateration IPv6 Enabled Indoor Positioning System

Why UWB?

For ALOHA, 97% of treansmissions are likely to succeed without collisions if total air utilisation is under 18% Shorter frame TX time comparing to other radios more ranging per second IPv6 Enabled Indoor Positioning System Why UWB?
