SME V5 – Why Server Only? Your district has: Existing network that you’d rather not change Few clients Easier to edit workstations than alter network config. Existing firewall and NAT

SME V5 – Why Server and Gateway? No configuration on the clients If no firewall, E-Smith will provide some firewall features to make your system more secure. (NAT, no access to internal resources from external IP’s) If you have a firewall device (BorderManager) in place – E-Smith should go in front… to maintain user logging features
