The word "se" has many uses in Spanish. Two of the most frequent uses are the impersonal "se" and the passive "se".

 The impersonal "se“ is the English equivalent of 'one' / 'people.' Like the English 'one,' the impersonal se refers to an unidentified human agent. Se come muy bien en Espana. One eats very well in Spain Se esta mejor aqui One is better off here.
