 Coeur d’ Alene School District Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Agreement  With parental permission, students in the Coeur d’ Alene School District now have the option to bring his/her own Personal Electronic Device (PED) to school and to access a secure, filtered network. Each student’s use of his/her own wireless PED on school grounds shall be subject to applicable rules and regulations including, but not limited to, the restrictions described herein. Both student and parent must sign this document before the student may participate in this program, bring his/her own device to school and/or access the school’s Internet gateway. The agreement is available on-line on the district web site, from teachers or in the office. 

 For the safety and security of students and to avoid disruption of the instructional process, students shall not display, use, or activate cellular communication device during the instructional day. For the purposes of this policy, the "instructional day" is defined as the take up bell to the final dismissal bell. The "instructional day" includes, but is not limited to, study halls, lunch break, class changes and any other structured or non-structured instructional activity that occurs during the normal school day.  Any portable communication and other electronic devices are strictly prohibited in the classroom unless it is used in direct connection to the classroom instruction and the teacher has given explicit permission for such use. 

 All students are required to dress in a manner that promotes a safe and healthy school environment, and is not disruptive or distracting to the educational climate and process.  Shirts must have 2 1/2 inch straps over both shoulder and cover breasts and bellies. Shorts and Skirts must be at least mid-thigh length from the knee.  No undergarments should be visible.  No references to illegal, violent, or offensive material. 

 Violations include:  · Cheating on a quiz or test  · Attempting to locate, obtain, improperly use and/or steal material/information belonging to the instructor including (but not limited to) assignments, quizzes, tests, answer keys or EOCAs.  · Distributing information for the academic gain of self and/or others.  · Using another person’s work (including material from the internet) and presenting it as his/her own.  · Allowing another student to copy his/her work in order to deceive.  Violation will result in a grade of zero for the questioned work.

 Treat opposing players, coaches, and fans with courtesy and respect.  Booing is not an acceptable behavior, particularly during player introductions.  Only signs encouraging your team are permitted.  Students, players, coaches, parents, and all spectators are asked to maintain total silence through the completion of the National Anthem per IEL Regulations. 

 There is to be only one student per pass unless a written note states otherwise.  Teacher permission needed to use the pass. HALL PASSES

 The Daily Bulletin is posted on the LCHS website -  The announcements are read following the Pledge of Allegiance; announcements are read over the intercom and posted in the case near the front office.

 Throughout the school year there are many social/ athletic events where an admission fee is charged. The purchase of an ASB card will give students free or reduced admission at these events.  ASB Card…. $40Transcripts… $3  Yearbooks….$60 must be purchased by December 12, No extras are ordered.  Travel Fees for Activities/ Athletics …. $25 per activity. 

 A weighted grade scale has been implemented for the purpose of encouraging and rewarding students for taking Honors an Advanced Placement courses. The grading scale is calculated on the 5.00 system. This scale is used to determine the class rank as well as the Valedictorian and Salutatorian.  Standard Class Honors Class Adv.  A student may transfer or drop a course within the first five (5) meeting of any one class of either semester without a penalty. If the student transfers to another class his/her absences will be transferred with the student.  Any student who drops a class after the first six (6) weeks of the semester will receive a grade of “F” on his/her permanent academic record.  Students removed from class for discipline reasons will receive an “F”

 Students will have limited opportunities to change their assigned schedules at the beginning of a semester.  Tuesday and Wednesday 2:30 – 7 pm  Thursday 2:30 – 6 pm   During the first week, only come to the counseling office during a period where you have a hole in your schedule.

 Students are expected to conduct themselves in such a manner as not to interfere with the orderly operation of the educational program.  No drugs, alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes  No tolerance for bullying, harassment, hazing, intimidation, or cyber-bullying.  Report to a teacher, counselor or administrator

 TARDIES  A student is considered tardy if he/she is not in the room and moving expeditiously to their seat when the bell rings.  The third unexcused tardy in a month results in Night School  Teachers may assign additional consequences for excessive tardies

 90% ATTENDANCE RULE (Policy 522)  Students must attend school. To be in compliance with state law a student may only have 4 total absences in a class.  Consequences:  Night school assigned for truancy  Loss of driving privileges  Loss of credit
