Behaviour and Expectations Mr Hutchinson Head of Year 10

Behaviour and Expectations Year 10 are currently the best behaved ( in terms of lowest seclusion, isolation) and this is to be maintained via the close support received from home. The year motto is “Simply the Best”, based on attainment grades throughout KS3, behaviour, participation in school life and the general ethos of the students who take pride in their performance and the school. The expectation is that ALL students will achieve 5 A* -C GCSE grades at the end of Year 11. This can only be done by commitment and effort from the students, the staff and parental support In order to keep up to date with expectations please feel free to myself or the relevant form Thomas, Powders, Essien, Munro, Aideh, Rixson, or

Standards and Achievement Mr Templeman-Wright Deputy Headteacher

Standards and Achievement Key Points: How do we do it – strategies that deliver success for all? – PiXL membership x 300+ = schools network with our own PiXL Associate – Our targets for students come from ‘FFT D’ estimates (top 25% Nationally) note ‘school’s actual 2012 results = value added factor – FFTD – 86% (5+ A* - C passes) actual 100% = +14% factor and FFTD 64% inc. English and Maths, actual 72% = + 8% factor – Individual One to one meetings with students x 3 per year to review progress – We issue grade reports x 3 per year to monitor and report progress which we internally monitor on a further 3 occasions per year. We state ‘current performance’ and FFT D estimates – In addition we offer: One to one and small group teaching and support, additional lessons afterschool, additional GCSE equivalent options, bespoke timetables, early entry in Maths and English, outstanding teaching and a whole school commitment to achieving success.

Standards and Achievement Key Points - continued: – We focus on reporting ‘indicative’ grades i.e. C1, C2, C3 – We focus on a minimum of two sub-levels progression per year e.g. Student ‘A’ in July of Year 9 = English C1 Student ‘A’ in July of Year 10 = B2 Student ‘A’ in July of Year 11 = A3. – We expect students to: complete all set homework, read and action all assessment comments by their teachers, attend extra classes, complete all classwork and ask for help.
