By locating power conversion very close to the point of use, no more than a 4/0 cable is required to carry each of the (22) 8.5kW max branch circuits within 60’ of the DC UPS, minimizing the amount of copper required. Take for example racks full of blade servers, each requiring (3) 70A breakers per side. WE have developed a series of rack distribution units to easily provide this secondary distribution with quick connect plugs.
