Hearing Readiness Classifications Classes 1 - 4
Hearing Readiness Classifications Deployable: Class I: Soldier’s Unaided Hearing is within H1 standards for both ears. No corrective action required. Class 2: Soldier’s Unaided Hearing is within H2 or H3 standards. Soldier has a current DA 3349 profile in medical record and a completed MOS/Medical Retention Board (if required). No active middle ear disease or medical pathology in ear.
Hearing Readiness Classifications Non-Deployable: Class 3: Soldier’s Unaided Hearing is within H-2 or H-3 standards. No DA 3349 (profile) on file. Soldier requires diagnostic audiological evaluation. SPRINT testing and MMRB required for H3 profiles. Class 4: Hearing readiness classification unknown due to one of the following: Soldier’s DOEHRS-HC Audiogram is greater than 12 months. Or Soldier has no baseline audiogram, DD2215 on file.

HRCs of 3 or 4 are Non-Deployable HRCs of 4 – need hearing screen with technicians. HRCs of 3 – need diagnostic hearing evaluation with audiologist.
The Bottom of the Page Summarizes Unit Compliance Rate This Status is Reported to the Division Surgeon on a monthly basis. HRCs are further broken into separate categories (i.e.; 3A, 3B, 4A, etc.) to provide more information.
