Compliance Letter

What is it? A letter of compliance is a legal letter where the signer agrees to follow certain terms or conditions in the letter. These are usually restrictions or requirements, depending on the subject. Letters of compliance are used in many fields such as when purchasing real estate or starting a new job. If the compliance letter is to have significant value, it's important to have a lawyer look it over to ensure that it has legal standing

How to write it? 1. Format the letter as you would a professional, business letter. Put your address in the top right and the recipient's address above the opening salutation on the left. Date the letter and use the recipient's proper title. If you don't know their name, use a neutral salutation such as "To Whom It May Concern."

2. Start the body of the letter with an opening paragraph that gives an overview of the issue at hand. Include any relevant information that will not be noted in what follows. Be clear and concise throughout the letter.

3. State the requirements and restrictions in the body of the letter 3. State the requirements and restrictions in the body of the letter. Give each mandate a separate paragraph to keep things simple and organized. Use bold headings where necessary and separate complex ideas with an outline format that breaks up main ideas with roman numerals. Subpoints are separated with capital letters, numbers and finally small letters – in order of importance.
