And the proof is the hadeeth of Ibn Abbaas: When the Prophet ( ) sent Mu’aad ibn Jabal to Yemen, he told him, ‘You are going to a group of people from among the People of the Book, so the first thing that you should call them to is that they worship Allaah alone…’ Al-Bkhuari and Muslim

And the proof is Allaah’s saying: فَٱعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَـهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ So know, that there is no deity that has the right to be worshiped except Allaah… Muhammad (47): 19

And the proof is Allaah’s saying: ومَآأَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كآفَّةً لِلنَّاسِ And We have not sent you except to all mankind… Saba (34): 28

And the proof is Allaah’s saying: قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ Say: Obey Allaah and obey the messenger… An Noor(24): 54

And the proof is the hadeeth of Mu’aadh: The Prophet ( ) said ‘The right of Allaah over His slaves is that they worship Him, that they do not join anything as a partner with Him and the right of the slave with Allaah is that He does not punish whoever does not join anything as a partner with Him’ Al-Bkhuari and Muslim
